tribratnews.tribratanews.com - There is good news from the expanded use of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE), starting April 1. Since it was made a national policy and made ticketing be able registered electronically, there has been shown a decrease in traffic law violations.
Several things were evaluated from the use of ETLE in the first three days, including the decrease in the violators who drives above 120 km/hour on toll roads. Other than that, specifically for freight transportation, there has been a decrease in the violation of the maximum load limit for goods vehicles on the highway. Thursday (7/4/22).
This means that ETLE can form a new, more positive culture for traffic users in the country. Users will be more obedient, without having to be monitored by officers directly on the highway.
These two conditions, speeding and overload, have been noted as the cause of quite a lot of traffic accidents.
Mass media observer, Dr. Rahmat Edi Irawan, S.Pd, M.IKom., explained that the decrease in traffic violations on highways due to ETLE is a positive sign that people’s habits can and may be changed through improving a system.
"This is a good first step, but this is still not enough. We still have to continue to socialize the correct traffic rules to the community", explained Dr. Rahmat
According to Dr. Rahmat Edi Irawan, S.Pd, M.IKom., Polri continues to expand the use of ETLE at various points and other areas in Indonesia. So that various violations, especially those that cause accidents, can be suppressed.
